SUBMARINE RACE NIGHT REVIEW BY LES SMITH

The 5th of May is a date that must go down in the Annuls of Naval History. The Club was invaded by a bunch of Ex Subby`s sporting Daz white shirts with Neon Type Logo`s.
A crowd of imports from some Aqua Club in Westbrook, and the usual RNA Reprobates filled the room. The evening hung on the roll of a dice, which usually ended up under the pool table thanks to a cross eyed Ex Subby (who still thinks they had outside Heads on submarines). Every time the dice was retrieved people asked if it was a full moon.
The odd Klaxon and Sonar Ping punctuated the evening allowing the Subby`s to remember the days when you could fit all your gear into a medium sized box and still have space to crash out on the top shelf. There was so many Sea Stories told that night the barman did`nt know if he sold more beer or Sea Sickness tablets.
After the Raffle the Aqua Club asked Pickfords for a large Van to take their Prizes back to Westbrook.
In all the night was a roaring sucess. Everyone who was there throughly enjoyed themselves. I hope we will see more Nights like this in the future.
Yours,
a very Knackered but Happy Barman

PANTO REVIEW BY LES SMITH

The Panto was on Saturday night,16 members of the Club went and on the following day the Lunch Time Session rang to the cry "He's Behind You", if any one asked even the most mundane of questions the only reply was "Oh No He Didn't", which then Begged the answer "Oh Yes He Did" During the Panto one Lady was seen bent nearly double in the front row, half crying, half laughing calling for a handkerchief. After the show was over and as they were making their way out of the Theatre, the only question on their lips was " can you Book our seats for next years show." On a more serious note,i must say that this was a local show put on by local people, and as such cannot be compared with any other Panto (professional or Marine)  Never the less I don't think I have ever seen a show put on with so much enthusiasm, Long may they carry putting on such brilliant shows.
